Walls and floors with tiles are easy to use, always look impressive and retain their original appearance for a long time. Glossy and matte wood-look tiles are actively used for finishing the facade and interior decoration of houses and apartments. Depending on its color and design, it is quite possible to create an interior in any style.
Wood-effect facade tiles
Technology is developing more and more rapidly every year. Currently, you can find the latest developments that are practical and easy to use. There are three types of wood-look street tiles:
- panels made of the so-called wood-polymer composite (plates with a special lock, have excellent characteristics of protecting walls from moisture and atmospheric influences);
- among the relatively new products are veneered boards, which look no different from natural wood (veneer is glued onto the base and as a result the surface is as uniform as possible);
- There are technologies for making wood-look tiles directly on the facade itself: using a matrix and plaster, a wood-look pattern is obtained, then after the mixture has dried, a special coating is applied to protect it from moisture and other weather factors.

Similar technologies can be used for houses made of any building materials.
Wood-effect tiles in the interior
Wood-effect wall tiles are used much more actively when decorating the interior of a house. Here, the designers’ imagination is unlimited and wooden motifs can be found everywhere: from classic parquet floors to walls and ceilings. Moreover, the variety of shades and patterns easily allows you to realize the most daring ideas.
- Wood-effect kitchen tiles. Kitchen and wood will a priori be the ideal solution for any home or apartment. There are several techniques here. If we are talking about a classic interior, you should give preference to small tiles, which are very similar to parquet. This technique works especially well when paired with heated floors. For modern styles, you can choose larger tiles, which will create the effect of floorboards. Gray wood-look tiles, very similar to bleached oak, look fresh and stylish, and floors in more natural shades of brown and sand will add a touch of coziness and warmth. Wood-look wall tiles are also often used. In this way, the eating area is highlighted or an apron is designed, it all depends on the designer’s idea.
- Looks quite harmonious wood tiles in the bathroom. Here, work with contrast is usually used: a dark brown-gray shade of the floor or walls especially beautifully emphasizes the color of the plumbing. Wood-effect tiles with a pattern can transform a room, and even the simplest toilet and bathtub will look stylish in such contrast. Bright inserts of turquoise, lilac or warm orange, aqua and mint look no less impressive when paired with wood. The bathroom becomes dynamic and original. You don’t want too obvious a contrast; choose white wood tiles and more pastel shades of blue, gray-violet and blue. Wood-effect tiles in the bathroom can be used both for the entire perimeter of the room and its individual zones: this way they highlight the shower stall area, fence off the bathroom, or emphasize the geometry of the room.
- The most original solution is wood effect ceiling tiles. There are many ways to present here. Rustic and country styles are played out in a similar way, sometimes these are classic English-style cabinets or modern design options. As for materials for wood-look ceiling tiles, there are a lot of options, from foam plastic to chipboard or laminate. So you can choose this finishing material in different price categories.
