Anti -vandal wallpapers and other materials that are too tough for pets

by decoredhome.com

Pets make us happier and, they say, save from some diseases. But even the most intelligent cat allows himself to scratch the sofa from time to time. And even a very well -mannered dog can inadvertently eat half a house. And what can we say about puppies and kittens! We threaten and scold, but we love the little bandits – and again we cross the wallpaper and change the furniture. Meanwhile, you can turn off the usual path and use special anti -vandal materials. After all, the manufacturers of finishing materials also have pets. If there are animals in the house, you need to choose particularly strong walls for repair: Down with stains and scratches! If you have a dog, especially large, you probably know that after a walk in the rain or after washing, it strives to rub the sides against the wall. Therefore, in the corridor and next to the bathroom, it is better to use washing finishing materials that can withstand not only wiping with a damp cloth, but also cleaning products. What are the options? Another moment, and all drops will be on the walls! The desiccable familiar variant of wall decoration for us is wallpapering. Some online stores have entire sections with “anti-vandal” options. Most often, they are offered there:

  • Flosely wallpaper for painting. This is a dense and fairly strong material that strokes to abrasion, impacts, temperature changes. They can be washed, and if necessary, it is easy to repaint;
  • Laminated wallpaper, they are also called the “anti -Marker”. It is easy to remove even complex pollution from them.

But these coatings are not suitable for those who have cats, since they are not resistant to sharp claws. Owners of meowing are recommended fiberglass and contract wallpaper.

  • Fiberglass wallpaper for painting is not afraid of almost nothing. This is an anti -vandal coating of an extreme level. They can be washed, repainted, they are alkalis and acid-resistant and, most importantly, racks to the attacks of cats. In fact, these wallpaper can be called universal, suitable for houses where there are both cats and dogs. Attention: Do not confuse glass chloride and glass wallpaper! The glass hub is used for walls for painting: it is glued between the basic and finish layers of putty.
  • Contract wallpaper is vinyl or from polyvinyl chloride wallpaper on the textile canvas. Initially, they are designed for use in commercial premises, but are quite suitable for the house where there are animals. They are glued and painted. Although they are inferior in terms of strength of glass wallpaper, they are the best option in terms of price – quality.

The presence of a clawe does not always protect from damage to wallpaper, so it is better to choose anti -vandal coatings important! So that the wallpaper really serves for a long time, do not save on the quality of paints. It depends on him how resistant to various kinds of influences will be the decoration. And always leave pieces of wallpaper and paint in reserve, it will not be difficult for them to restore local damage. What is the most obvious, but not the simplest solution to the wallpaper – the leveling of walls for painting. Here it will be necessary to try especially. It’s easier to apply decorative plasters: they do not require a scrupulous approach. But it must be remembered that textured coatings are a tid “piece” for pets. If they are scratched, then this is half a bastard. Worse, if they begin to gnaw. Here and poisoning is nearby! The walls can be painted, but before they need to be leveled. This is a time -consuming and expensive occupation of a plastic panel, it seems, all problems can solve at once. But this is true only partly. If the panels have a hollow volume inside, they are easy to damage. A large dog can pierce plastic with a paw. Moreover, it is likely that it will be hurt itself. MDF panels can vary greatly in quality. The cheapest options are not able to withstand the attacks of cat claws, neither moisture, nor constant cleaning with detergents. Therefore, for houses with animals, you will have to choose a high -quality material and, accordingly, expensive. But they can be painted in the desired color and perfectly fit into the interior. But you must admit that for the design repairs that you will enjoy for many years, it is worth paying wooden and gypsum options, in classical interiors they are called “Buzeri”. However, this is a pretty expensive pleasure. Gypsum panels are quite heavy and have a relief texture that will definitely interest the tailed ones. Wooden are beautiful and universal in terms of design, however, their price is very biting. But there are budget analogues! Laminate. Yes, on the wall. This is a great solution. It can be washed, it does not scratch, and this material does not represent much interest for cats and dogs. And about how to choose it correctly, read in articles 7 secrets of choosing a good laminate and features of the choice of laminate that everyone should know. Laminate is not only long -long “wood” dies, but also interesting geometric elements that look great on the walls by note: it is not necessary to finish the entire wall from floor to stream with anti -vandal materials. It is enough to protect only the risk zone – and finish the upper part with any other material. Wooden rails or even a lining – beautiful, inexpensive and very fashionable materials for decorating the lower part of the walls, protect protective screens, if the repair is recently completed, and a cat has appeared in your house? In this case, there are special protective screens – thin canvases made of transparent plastic. They are suitable for protecting walls trimmed with wallpaper, plaster, or painted surfaces, as well as doors. Screens are recorded on bilateral tape or simple stationery buttons. As a result, the interior remains the same, but cats lose all interest in the walls, since the claws simply slide off the coating. They have different sizes, which allows you to choose a solution even for complex places or walls with bends. The correct floor = calm owner and a healthy livestock coating should be strong, moisture resistant and not absorbing smells. The most suitable and affordable coating can be considered linoleum. He does not absorb odors and moisture, is easily washed, does not scratch and at the same time remains quite comfortable for the animals themselves. But there are subtleties. For example, for apartments with animals, you should choose a commercial or semi -commercial linoleum. Cheap analogues can become unusable even from cat claws. The next moment is joints and edges. Ideally, there should be no joints, or they need to be protected with special rapids, because some animals raise linoleum and with pleasure gnaw it. The most simple solution will be a high -quality linoleum an important role is played by color: on a too bright or dark plain linoleum, animal hair is immediately evident. It is clear that it must be removed in a timely manner, but still it is very difficult to achieve a feeling of order with such floors. General laying rules you will find in the article how to properly lay linoleum. Another material that should be paid to is a cork coating. Such a floor is warm, not slippery, withstands frequent cleaning and endless running. It is very important that it has shock absorbing properties, that is, it reduces the load on the joints of the animals. Another plus is additional sound insulation. But this will be appreciated only by the neighbors from below. The floor cork coating is laid in the same way as the laminate seemed if we protect the wall with a laminate, it should be perfect for the floor. After all, it was originally created precisely for this. But for animals, such a material is not the best solution. It’s not even that he has a bad relationship with water. It is too slippery and hard. The animal on it will constantly strain so that the paws do not part, especially during the game. Sometimes injuries occur. In addition, on this coating, the clatter of the claws is clearly heard. It will interfere not so much to neighbors as you yourself. The same can be said about porcelain tiles. This, of course, is a superrant and easy to care for the flooring, but it is slippery (and therefore traumatic), extremely solid (which is harmful to the bones and joints of animals) and cold. By the way, additional warming up from the underlying systems for animals is also not useful. The floor should withstand any load. Even the most unexpected windows. Hunting, safe for all, with a folding mechanism of opening, can become a deadly danger trap for cats. In the pursuit of prey flying a bird or even a butterfly, they fall into the gap, get stuck in a narrowing and can strangle. Therefore, it is better to use the swing mechanism for opening windows – and so that the pet does not jump out into the street, use the limiter. In addition to open windows, the danger for cats is anti -mosquito nets. Seeing the potential prey outside the window, the cats absorbed in hunting confidently rely on them. But these designs are not even designed even for cat weight and fall out of fasteners with the animal! In addition, the grid easily breaks with sharp claws. You can protect the pet from the fall by installing a special anti -cash grid. Its task is to prevent tragedy. Antikoshka is a stainless steel grid that can withstand loads up to 20 kg and does not succumb to sharp claws. A strong frame is securely fixed in the window opening. Antikoshka mesh is important! The Antikoshka grid does not provide protection against falling out for children. This must be understood so as not to lay unnecessary hopes on her. In addition to anti -mosquito nets, curtains often suffer from cat claws. In this case, it is recommended to use rolled curtains on the windows. They practically do not scratch and are not of interest to cats. By the way, aluminum and wooden blinds only seem to be a way out of the situation. Yes, it is not easy to scratch them – but it is very easy to break. In addition, there are frequent cases when cats injure themselves with lamellas, and sometimes stuck in the plexuses of their ropes and die. It is better to replace the curtains with roller curtains furniture. And at least something! If we talk about upholstered furniture, the most suitable upholstery material will be a synthetic phlock. He racks to wipes, does not sink and does not lose its shape when cleaning, practically does not absorb liquid, and has the “anti -kic” property. Flock has a velvety surface on which even small cuts are invisible. A more advanced analogue of Flok is a courtesan. He is antistatic and does not absorb water at all. True, it costs more. You can also pay attention to furniture, upholstered by microfiber or artificial suede. She does not pierce, does not scratch, does not abore. The best option would be furniture, upholstered by flock or curtain! Furniture from anti -vandal fabrics cannot be washed with aggressive detergents that can wash off protective impregnation. If you do not plan to change furniture, special anti -vandal covers for sofas and for chairs will help. As a rule, their dimensions are universal, so you can choose an option for any model. In the prisoners of our house there were always dogs and cats. Over the years, a set of upholstered furniture “Birch”, several sofas, and an invading chair were torn for shreds. Stools, doors and wallpaper are not amenable. Apotheosis was the eaten LoAZ car with a tarpaulin extension. Our dog (Polish shepherd) gnawed at the chair, the gearbox switch, the steering wheel, broke the tarp and … fell asleep. It would seem enough experience to stop, but no. Today in my house the walls are torn again and the doors are scratched, because we have a cat, a cat, and a dog. All of them appeared after the repair was made. Next time, the choice of materials will be taking into account the full composition of the family. And I can well learn to live without embossed wallpaper and long curtains, but I will never learn to live without tailed ones. If you read this material – most likely you too.
