Wall curtain rods

No matter how carefully the design of your home is thought out, without beautiful and tasteful curtains it will look uncomfortable, empty and cold. But in order for the curtains not to look like a simple piece of fabric covering the window from prying eyes, but to actually become a decoration of the house, you should choose the right cornice. Therefore, we will pay a little attention to this accessory, namely its most traditional variety – the wall cornice.

Types of wall cornices

The most popular among wall-mounted curtain rods, due to their versatility, can rightfully be considered round wall-mounted curtain rods. In addition, such cornices organically fit into the style of any interior. Depending on the number of fabrics used (lambrequin, tulle, curtains, valance), such wall-mounted curtain rods can be one-, two-, or three-row – one or another drapery element is hung separately on each of the pipes (they are the main element of round cornices). Pipes, usually metal, in wall cornices are inserted into a special decorative bracket, which is directly attached to the wall.

To make round cornices, not only metal is used, but also other materials – plastic, wood. For example, wooden wall curtain rods will harmoniously fit into an interior decorated in a rustic or eco style.

Wall-mounted curtain rods made of aluminum profiles are in stable demand and constant popularity due to their performance qualities. They can also, depending on the number of drapery elements, be one-, two-, or three-channel (the fastening hooks in such cornices slide along special channels). Sometimes such cornices are called tires.

Very similar to tires, in particular in terms of the movement principle of curtain hooks, are baguette wall curtain rods. Their designs are almost identical, only in baguette cornices the front (front) panel is decorated with a decorative baguette. But aluminum cornices are more suitable for a minimalist style or high-tech style, and baguette cornices will advantageously emphasize the beauty of the classic style.

Of course, manufacturers have not ignored modern types of materials, such as plastic. The specificity of the material allows you to create plastic wall curtain rods for curtains of various shapes. Such curtain rods are very practical and easy to care for. In addition, the plasticity of the material allows them to be bent in the most bizarre configurations, which is an indispensable quality when it is necessary to hang curtains along an uneven path. That is, the properties of plastic to bend easily made it possible to use it for the manufacture of flexible wall curtain rods. Which, undoubtedly, became a godsend when decorating exclusive, non-standard interiors.

And, of course, we cannot fail to mention bay window cornices for windows of complex shapes. Wall-mounted cornices for a bay window can, perhaps, be considered a kind of flexible cornice, with the only difference being that bay windows protrude (a bay window is translated as a protrusion) above the general plane of the wall. The most common cornices of this type are semicircular.

Cornices for rooms with suspended ceilings

When decorating a window with curtains in a room with suspended ceilings, you should take into account that not every cornice can be mounted under such a ceiling. Among wall-mounted cornices for rooms with suspended ceilings, the best option is the choice of profile aluminum cornices. Their design allows such a cornice to be hung as close to the film as possible, and they do not have protruding or moving external parts that could damage the stretch ceiling material.
