If you are a connoisseur of classic interior design and natural textures, we offer you magnificent wood-effect floor tiles that have gained popularity all over the world. Ceramics is a material of universal quality. It is of natural origin, environmentally friendly, and not harmful to health. The ceramic plates contain a mixture of different types of clay, which, when fired, has low friability and high strength. Even “capricious” parquet does not have such wear resistance – wooden parquet, which is very expensive and requires a certain installation by specialists, changes in size with temperature changes or high humidity, this can contribute to the appearance of rough cracks and corrosion, so parquet requires increased attention and accuracy, which cannot be said at all about wood-effect ceramic tiles, which take the best from ordinary facing tiles and wood. Thus it was born with the aesthetics of wood and the hardness of ceramics. The designers created such a completely similar wood texture that the differences can only be noticed upon close examination. We get a double benefit: the ability to easily clean particularly dirty areas and the stylish appearance of wood texture. These wood-look ceramic tiles are perfect for living rooms, hallways or showers and will serve you for a long time.
Characteristics of wood-effect floor tiles
In order to be completely calm about the quality and appearance of your floors, it is worth laying porcelain tiles that look like wood or other imitation. In terms of its external characteristics and composition, it is not much different from traditional ceramic tiles. The only difference is in the production conditions. Porcelain stoneware is fired at very high temperatures (1300 degrees), at such temperatures all particles literally melt and are pressed under enormous pressure. This way, there are no micropores left in the tile, and it can withstand loads of up to several hundred kilograms per square centimeter and severe frosts. Therefore, it is most often used for finishing stairs and open-air areas.
Where it is impossible to use natural wood, porcelain stoneware parquet will perfectly replace it. The disadvantage of this coating is the cold floor, which cannot be insulated. But even this can be corrected – a heated floor system is installed under the ceramic tiles. Unlike polished and slippery parquet, it is rough and pleasant to the touch, like the surface of wood. But be careful: wet tiles are quite slippery!
You don’t have to come up with a combination of parquet, linoleum or ceramic tiles; imitation wood in any shades, colors and patterns will fit into any, even strict classical style and will satisfy the most picky people.
Options for wood floor tiles
Porcelain tile panels are given many different fantastic wood colors that do not exist in nature – rich black, red, white and aged wood. Stylization of expensive exotic wood species, such as wenge, red, pink and ebony wood, eucalyptus, padauk and others. White wood imitation tiles are well suited for the bathroom, adding cleanliness and coziness to it.
Porcelain tiles, like ceramics, do not require maintenance. To keep the floor always sparkling clean, you just need to wipe it with a damp cloth. An accidentally broken bottle of chemicals will not leave marks or stains on it, and the ceramics itself will not release toxic substances even when heated strongly. The tiles are so resistant to abrasion that they can be used in areas with high levels of traffic and pollution, such as train stations, supermarkets, and post offices. If damaged, the damaged part can be easily replaced without dismantling the entire floor.
