Pasting walls with different wallpapers

Even the most original trellises look somewhat boring if you cover the entire surface of the walls with one continuous canvas. And the traditional technique of covering a small room with light wallpaper does not always solve the problem of zoning or visually adjusting the shape. Different wallpapers in one room amazingly give it dynamics and divide it into functional zones.

The same techniques will not work for a square or retracted space. So the first step is to choose a tactic: will we increase the height of the ceiling or visually make the room square, or maybe just divide it into separate zones?

To combine different wallpapers in the interior of each type of design style, almost any single-color trellis will be suitable, and we will choose a companion canvas for the base. So, textured matting wallpaper or other natural materials will fit perfectly into country or rustic style, and will also make friends with textile wallpaper. But in modern high-tech or minimalism they will definitely be superfluous.

Different wallpapers in one room: each room has its own option

In each specific room, the wallpapering of the walls will be different. Even if the principle itself remains, the way it is presented will change. Let’s consider how exactly you can decorate the walls in each specific case.

1. How to cover a hallway with different wallpapers? Most often, two techniques are used: horizontal or vertical inserts. In the first option, the wall is traditionally divided into two parts, and usually the lower one is darker. As an accent, you can use vertical inserts from contrasting trellises of a darker color.
2. When covering a bedroom with different wallpapers, they usually choose the patchwork method or emphasizing certain areas. In the first case, these are original “pictures” made from baguette and wallpaper: the entire wall is covered with plain wallpaper in pastel colors, and trellises with a pattern are inserted into a frame made from molding, but all in the same color scheme. The headboard looks great, visually highlighted with contrasting wallpaper.
3. The task of covering the kitchen with different wallpapers is a little more difficult, because here you should also take into account the specifics of the room with a greater likelihood of contamination of the walls. It is very good to use different textures and even types of wallpaper. More durable washable or fiberglass ones are glued closer in the work area, and lighter and calmer ones are used in the corner for the dining table.
4. When deciding how to wallpaper a room with different wallpapers, they usually start from the style and size of the room. Large rooms with a classic style look good with a horizontal or patchwork method. Modern styles look better with vertical pasting or inserts of contrasting fabrics.
