Vertical plastic blinds

by decoredhome.com

We are used to seeing blinds in the form of thin horizontal plates tightly connected to each other. However, not everyone knows that there are other interesting models that look elegant and original. Take, for example, vertical plastic blinds. They fit perfectly into the design of an apartment or office, and they are much easier to care for than products with horizontal slats. In addition, they have the following advantages:

  • make the room visually higher;
  • do not absorb unpleasant odors;
  • do not collect dust/dirt, are not electrified;
  • retain their original shape;
  • they can be used for large view windows that reach the floor;
  • have several types of control (central and lateral);
  • allow you to completely darken the room;
  • simply mounted and removed.

As a rule, vertical blinds are used in rooms with high humidity (swimming pools, baths), as well as where there is a high probability of contamination (warehouses, industrial premises). In addition, these products are actively used in residential apartments.

Model range

Modern manufacturers offer you a wide range of blinds, so choosing the right model will not be difficult. Products that imitate wood texture are very popular. They add comfort and elegance to the interior. You can also choose classic plain blinds, which make the interior sober and calm. Such products are suitable for both office and apartment.

How to install plastic blinds?

Blinds with vertical slats can be mounted on a horizontal (top of a window opening, ceiling) or vertical (wall) surface. Metal clips and brackets are used for installation. Let’s consider the types of fastening depending on the surface:

  1. Attaching plastic blinds to the ceiling. Here you will need special clamps. They are attached with screws directly to the window opening/ceiling. After this, the cornice is inserted into the groove of the clamp and secured in it by snapping.
  2. Wall mount. Here you can use any iron brackets. They are attached to the wall with screws, and the clamps are screwed to the brackets with bolts and nuts. At the end of the assembly, slats with pre-mounted weights are inserted into the cornice.

Tip: When attaching the blinds, do not forget to take into account their type of control.
