Without such an important detail as spectacular curtains, your interior will not look complete. In addition to the beautiful canvas, the cornice itself on which your window curtains are attached plays an important role. There are a lot of products on the market made from polymers or wood. However, many owners still prefer reliable round, profile or other metal curtain rods that have undergone many years of strength testing.
Types of metal cornices
- Tubular metal cornice. The design of this product is the simplest, but there are some variations here too. The pipe itself can be perfectly round, corrugated, square, or in the form of a braided rope. A variety of fancy tips, made in the form of a leaf, ball, cone, hook, or other decorative shape, add special chic to such cornices.
- Profile metal ceiling and wall curtain rods. This type is well suited for both medium and light curtains. Most often they are made of aluminum alloy. Such cornices bend easily, so they are well suited for arched windows. This structure can be attached to the ceiling or any wall using reliable brackets.
- String wall metal cornice. If you have light curtains and you don’t want to draw attention to their fastening, then use an almost invisible string system. Metal curtain rods like these are suitable for kitchens and baths where heavy curtains are not needed. Sometimes the string is covered with baguettes, completely hiding it from view.
- Forged cornices. These original products are made by craftsmen only to order and are decently priced. But this particular thing will give the interior a special flavor, especially if you have chosen a classic style. The reliability of a forged cornice is the highest.

The chrome-plated and painted surface of the pipe resists corrosion well. That is why a metal curtain rod for a bath or kitchen will in many cases be the most practical solution. If you prefer heavy curtains, then it is better not to take risks with cheap plastic, but to buy a reliable pipe. Another advantage of metal is its excellent and solid appearance. For example, a white metal cornice covered with a golden patina will suit a connoisseur of the classics well, and a chrome pipe looks great in a modern interior.
