Modern decorators love to experiment with multifunctional designs that can quickly change the appearance of an apartment. One of the most popular design techniques in the interior is the use of sliding walls. This design is made in the form of a wide partition that moves like a wardrobe door. However, unlike a classic door, such a wall occupies a large area and, when folded, creates the illusion of one spacious room.
Sliding interior walls in an apartment
Depending on the design features, sliding partitions can be divided into several categories:
- Sliding glass walls. They create the illusion of a partition, but at the same time do not “steal” precious square meters from the room. The glass allows light to pass through, so the apartment seems more spacious and comfortable. You can choose both transparent partitions and matte models with a sandblasted pattern.
- Sliding accordion wall. An interesting mobile device that folds like an accordion. The wall has two guides on the ceiling and on the floor, which fix the panel in a horizontal position. The panel itself consists of several segments that are fastened together with hinges. Can be used in offices, libraries, exhibition halls, lecture rooms and of course in residential apartments.
- Sliding walls in the form of a picture. They can be made of both wood and glass. A certain ornament is applied to the entire surface of the wall, as a result of which it resembles a large painting. Such a door becomes a bright design accent in the interior and attracts attention.
