Not so long ago, another new material appeared on the flooring market- quartz-vinyl laminate. The scope of its use is quite wide: suburban houses and city apartments, commercial and entertainment premises, etc. This waterproof laminated material is a worthy competitor to an ordinary laminate.

Advantages and disadvantages of quartz-vinyl laminate

Vinyl laminate is a very strong flooring, which with proper installation can last up to 20 years. Thanks to the vinyl tiles applied to the vinyl tiles, this type of laminate has excellent water resistance with a transparent wear -resistant layer. In addition, such a floor will not be cold in winter. Therefore, this material is used in rooms with high humidity: in bathrooms, bathrooms, laundries, etc.

Unlike other types of laminate, the quartz-vinyl coating does not contain additives harmful to humans: foaming agents and plasticizers. It can be used in rooms with warm floors, as well as in those houses where there are differences between summer and winter temperatures. In addition, such material has excellent sound insulation, and walking on it is a real pleasure, because this coating is soft and pleasant to the touch.

The quartz, calcite and fiberglass contained in the base layer determine the excellent wear resistance and stability of the size of this tile. With weak heating, such a laminate does not emit harmful, and lay it quite easily.

Caring for a floor of quartz-vinyl laminate is no different from the usual coating: to remove pollution, it is enough to wipe the surface with a mop with a damp nozzle.

The design of the vinyl laminate is diverse. Various color solutions with sissies, images and their combinations allow you to choose exactly such a floor covering that the most demanding owner will like.

The quartz-vinyl laminate also has disadvantages, the main of which is its fire hazard. With severe ignition, the coating begins to secrete hazardous substances. Therefore, this material is not recommended to be laid in the kitchen.

With contacts with rubber products or even rubber shoes, a chemical reaction occurs and vinyl laminate can change its color.

To the disadvantages of this coating, many include its high cost compared to other floor materials. Nevertheless, the quartz-vinyl laminate is very in demand and with proper installation and care will serve you for more than a dozen years.

How to lay a quartz-vinyl laminate?

There are two types of laying quartz-vinyl laminate: on glue and with locks. However, the first option is quite rare since it is quite difficult to mount an adhesive laminate. Yes, and it is impossible to replace part of the plates in case of damage in this case: you need to dismantle the entire flooring.

In this regard, a laminate with castle mounts is much more practical, it can easily be changed if necessary, without disassembling the entire floor. Before laying this material, it is necessary to thoroughly align the base and put it. This is especially important for quartz-vinyl laminate, since the coating is quite soft. And even a slight small SOR, which fell under the coating, over time can lead to a rapid wear of this flooring.

When the base is ready, it must be thoroughly cleaned of dust and other contaminants. The material before laying should be laid out in the same room where it will be mounted for two days. The temperature in the room should be above +18 ° C.

The laying of the laminate must be started with the corner of the room, and the bar must be connected at an angle of 45 ° C. The lamellas should retreat from the walls by 4-5 mm. A properly mounted quartz-vinyl laminate will make any room both original and cozy.
