What is clinker tiles

Clinker brick, which is more often called tiles – finishing material made of burned clay of refractory varieties. To improve operational properties, manufacturers are added to salt, carbonates and plasticizers. The resulting mass is thoroughly mixed, then blanks are formed from it, which are burned at high temperatures for about 48 hours – up to 1400 ° C.

First, decide on the form. Traditionally, clinker brick can be square or rectangular. Square dimensions: 200×200 mm, 300×300, 330×330 mm, rectangular – 115×240, 120×200 mm. You can make the material under the order by indicating any necessary sizes. But if the tile is too large, strength indicators will significantly decrease.

The thickness of the clinker brick can vary from 8 to 20 mm. For rooms with low cross-country ability, 8-12 mm parameters are enough, for rooms with a high-15-16 mm. • Prepare the black floor: disguise minor defects, remove dirt and dust, grind. If the clinker brick is heavy, strengthen the coating with a layer of concrete solution.
• Buy a special glue for clinker tiles. When choosing, be sure to see what thickness of the facing material is suitable.
• Put the brick, starting from the center of the room, gradually moving towards the walls. The square tiles can be mounted in even rows, or in a checkerboard pattern, a rectangular one – a span, a Christmas tree, parallel to each other.
• Wait for the complete dry composition of the adhesive composition, rub the seams, if necessary, treat them with a special putty.
• Lay the skirting boards so that they close the edges of the brick. You can also use other ways to separate the floor from the wall.
