Types of interior arched doors
Arched doors primarily differ from each other in their form of execution.
- Semicircular. The most common version of arched doors, the opening of which is made in the form of half a circle, and the center is located exactly in its middle.
- Lancet. Gothic look of arched doors. Their feature is considered to be an opening that consists of two arcs that do not smoothly connect to each other.
- Horseshoe or Moorish. These arches have a pointed, lobed or oval appearance, visually reminiscent of a horseshoe. Such doors are usually used in ethnic styles.

- A door block that follows the shape of the opening. The manufacturing technology of such a door is quite complex and expensive, but the exquisite aesthetic appearance is worth it.
- Non-opening arched transom. This type of door block is usually rectangular, i.e. standard, view, and the semicircle of the arch is fixed in the doorway. This option is much easier to manufacture and cheaper in cost.
- Interior arched sliding doors. A fashion trend in recent years has been the use of arched sliding doors in modern classic interiors. They are often made of natural wood and decorated with stained glass or carvings.
Manufacturing materials
- Tree. Traditional classic arched doors are made of natural wood. More expensive options are made from ash, oak or beech, less expensive ones are made from pine. An alternative solution in the production of doors can be the use of solid wood bars, MDF, chipboard, as well as a combination of materials.
- Glass. Arched doors made of tempered glass can be frameless or have a frame made of metal, plastic or MDF.
- Plastic. Interior arched plastic doors are distinguished by a variety of colors and shades. Although such door material is not a decoration for home interiors, plastic products are usually installed in offices and other non-residential premises.
To make the arched door stand out even more and remain a property of the house, a special role should be given to decorated elements, for example, stained glass designs, tinted glass or artistic carvings.
Don’t forget about the fittings; they must match the overall style of the whole house and be in harmony with all the surrounding interior items. Today’s construction market offers a large selection of fittings, among this variety you can easily choose the necessary texture and color. Hinges and handles can be made of copper, bronze, forged metal and even plastic. But do not forget that arched interior doors require more reliable connection elements than conventional rectangular ones.
