How to choose blinds for a balcony?
Before purchasing, you need to decide on the price range, the texture of the material and the expected effect. Depending on this, you will be offered the following types of blinds for the balcony:
- Aluminum horizontal blinds for the balcony. They are often used when decorating windows in an apartment, but for a loggia/balcony they are not the best option. The fact is that metal is prone to heating up quickly, so your loggia in the summer can turn into a kind of “branch of hell”. It will be very hot and extremely uncomfortable there. But if the glazing area is not large and the windows do not face the sunny side, then it is quite possible to use aluminum blinds.
- Fabric vertical blinds for the balcony. This option looks very stylish and is easy to use. The fabric does not have high thermal conductivity, therefore the room remains dark and cool. Pay attention to products in blue, beige, peach and white. They refresh the room and make it more elegant.
- Wooden blinds. They look stylish and aristocratic, but at the same time have a high cost. The cornices are covered with decorative overlay strips (valences), giving them a finished look. The only negative is that such blinds are quite heavy, so switching problems may arise. To avoid this, try not to order designs that are too bulky.
- Roller blinds for the balcony. Their main strong point is ease of use. Roller blinds are easy to install, they rarely break and do not attract dust. Thanks to special guides, the fabric fits tightly to the glass and does not dangle during ventilation.
- Bamboo blinds for the balcony. Ecological products made from bamboo fibers. They look simple and concise, but at the same time they ennoble the room. Please note that they are not ways to 100% darken a loggia. They are purchased to create a beautiful twilight.
