Today, blinds are installed in many apartments. They perfectly darken the room and serve as additional decor for windows. The only negative is that installing them takes a lot of time and requires certain skills. So, how to install blinds on a window, and what tools will you need? Let’s try to figure it out.
How to install horizontal blinds?
Products with horizontal slats are very often used in apartments and offices, so we will begin our acquaintance with the installation instructions with them. For installation you will need the following tools and parts:
- fastenings;
- drill;
- pencil for marks;
- screwdriver and screws;
- stubs.
Fastening will be carried out in several stages:
- Install the mounting angles by first drilling holes with a diameter of 2.5-3 mm in them. You can use one self-tapping screw for each corner; the rigidity of the structure will be ensured by the top bar of the blinds.
- Attach a plastic strip to the corners. To do this, first thread one hook through it, and then, slightly bending the plate, thread it into the second hook.
- Place the blinds on the brackets, fixing them in the center relative to the window.
- Open the blinds and install the corners for the bottom slats. They need to be attached below the edge of the bead adjacent to the frame. Fastening is carried out using screws.

Tip: before installation, you can remove the decorative caps from the strip.

How to install vertical blinds?
All necessary parts (wall and ceiling clips, cornice mounting) will be included with vertical slats. The only thing you will have to purchase are dowels for fastening.
The work will be done step by step:
- Mark the location of the ceiling clips. After that, screw the clips using a drill and self-tapping screws. Please note that you need to use all the clips included in the kit, since their number is calculated in accordance with the length of the curtain rod.
- Place the curtain rod against the clips and lightly press it into place.
- Attach the slats to the cornice. To do this, you need to insert the sliders into the plastic holes on the slats.
- Insert the weights into the special pockets at the bottom of the slats. Thread a chain through the eyes of the weights.
