Today, the finishing materials market offers many interesting options for floor finishing. Linoleum, parquet, porcelain tiles, carpet – all this is used in the decoration of apartments and cottages. However, in the case of rooms with high traffic, you need to choose the most durable finishing material, such as ceramic tiles. It has qualities that make it ideal for kitchens, bathrooms and hallways. This:
- high strength;
- wear resistance;
- good thermal conductivity;
- ease of care;
- resistance to alkalis/acids;
- water-repellent properties.
The only disadvantage of tiles is that they are considered a cold material. However, due to its high thermal conductivity, the tile easily coexists with the “warm floor” system, so it is suitable for any room.
Types of ceramic floor tiles
Depending on the design features, several types of tiles can be distinguished:
- Wood effect ceramic tiles. Its design can copy the color and relief of natural wood, making it look like parquet or laminate. Most often it is used to decorate the floor in living rooms, corridors and loggias, making the apartment very cozy
- Monochrome line. This includes black and white ceramic floor tiles. If desired, these colors can be combined or used separately, creating a powerful color accent. If you decide to use only one color, then choose tiles with a discreet textured pattern. It will make the design more interesting and aristocratic.
