When installing a suspended or suspended ceiling in a room, you should also think about lighting. Today, decorating the ceiling with various types of lighting is becoming increasingly popular. At the same time, you can hide defects on the ceiling surface and visually increase the space of the room. With the help of decorative lighting, you can zone a room, highlighting it in different colors, for example, a dining area or a place to relax.
Ceiling lighting options
Since backlighting is considered a secondary type of lighting, its low intensity allows the use of energy-saving devices: LED strips and energy-saving lamps.
Most often today you can find the following types of lighting:
- Behind the eaves lighting along the perimeter can visually raise the ceiling in the room. This lighting is installed under suspended or suspended plasterboard ceilings. A ceiling cornice is attached with glue along the entire perimeter of the ceiling. After this, an LED strip for ceiling lighting is inserted into the cavity behind the eaves and then glued, and the ceiling with lighting around the perimeter is ready. Sometimes neon lamps are used instead of LED strip.
- Interior lighting from the under-ceiling space is divided into strip neon and LED lighting. Illumination with neon lamps creates a calm, uniform light and has many different light shades. In addition, such lamps operate silently. However, their operation requires high voltage, which in itself is no longer safe. LED lighting involves the use of LED strip, which is perfect for installation on any curved ceiling surface. This energy-saving backlight produces beautiful light with good brightness. LED lighting of a stretch ceiling can change the shade of the glow during operation. It has a fairly long service life. Ceilings with LED lighting are considered the most popular today.
- Illumination with spotlights or spots. Such rotating spots direct light beams at an angle to the ceiling, creating an amazingly beautiful play of light rays on the ceiling. Most often, such lighting is used on plasterboard ceilings. Experts do not recommend using such lighting for glossy stretch ceilings: when reflected from the smooth surface of the ceiling, the lamps will create an uncomfortable visual effect. In addition, directed light fluxes from spots can be a fire hazard.
