On the interior door market you will find a huge selection of natural wood products. There are mid-price models, budget options and expensive luxury doors. For the average consumer, solid pine interior doors are usually the best choice, since here the combination of price and quality becomes the most optimal.
Wooden door made of solid pine: features of choice
There are two categories of wooden doors:
- more expensive models made from a single piece of wood;
- doors made of laminated pine.
With the first type, everything is simple: they take a piece of wood and cut out a solid structure from it. But you can work with laminated pine doors in different ways. This option is much cheaper and easier to work with. In production, they take pine beams and, using a special compound, glue them together into a complete piece. The glue is strong enough and it will not be possible to physically separate the timber. But then there are two ways of production. The workpiece can simply be sent for cutting and further painting. Here lies the main problem: if you save on production and do not carefully prepare the material, the result will be a “multi-colored” and heterogeneous door.
In another embodiment, a workpiece made of glued timber is covered with veneer from an MDF substrate. As a result, you get a product in the color of bleached oak, walnut or any other species. Due to the veneer coating of other species, the price of the door will not increase very noticeably, but the external appearance of the product will be much more presentable.
