Louvered doors mean doors of a wide variety of modifications and purposes. These are external metal and plastic roller blinds, compartment rollers, interior roller blinds and accordion roller shutters, as well as regular swing doors and doors covered with slats made of various materials.
The main difference between any type of louvered doors and all others is the unusual door leaf, which is made up of individual thin slats. The slats can be made of the usual wood, metal and plastic, but you can also find unusual doors with slats made of fabric, for example.
The main advantage of doors with louvered grilles, no matter what they are made of, is their ability to diffuse light coming from outside without completely hiding it from it. That is, we have a partial shade effect, like from curtains. In addition, such doors are very aesthetically pleasing and look beautiful from both sides.
Typically, such doors are sold ready for installation in the doorway. There are models where the blinds are mounted into a glazed balcony or entrance door. But, in principle, it will not be difficult to assemble such a canvas yourself, one by one attaching the slats to the door frame.
Types of louvered doors based on material of manufacture
All types of louvered doors consist of thin slats attached to the main surface at a certain angle, but always parallel to each other. Such doors can be made from different materials:
- Wooden louvered doors – are made from high-quality, well-dried wood, most often from pine, beech, alder or oak. This wood is divided into separate layers and subsequently glued into dies. When using this wood merging technology, it is possible to obtain a unique material that is resistant to adverse external influences, temperature changes, and moisture. So, such doors can be installed in any room, even in those where the humidity level is high.
- MDF louvered doors – another great option that has many advantages. For example, environmental friendliness, resistance to various deformations, wide geography of application. In addition, such doors can be painted in any color. Painted louvered doors, in particular white ones, greatly decorate the room and fit harmoniously into any interior.
- Plastic louvered door It can imitate wood, or it can remain itself and at the same time fit well into the interior of the room, since it comes in a wide variety of colors and shades. Plastic structures are light and convenient, therefore they are often and successfully installed in houses and apartments.
- Metal louvered doors They look stylish and beautiful in the interior. Such products are sold ready-made, but you can make an individual order. As a rule, they become a decoration and highlight of the room where they are installed.

Design innovations for roller shutter doors
Sliding doors have become increasingly popular lately. Including louvered doors. Louvered sliding doors have the form of shutters covered with slats. These doors move apart, hide behind each other or enter the space between the walls.

An interior louvered sliding door resembles an accordion or a book and folds and unfolds instead of opening like a swing door or sliding apart like a sliding door. Such doors are reminiscent of retro style, but at the same time they are very modern, stylish and impressive. The “accordion” itself, if it is small, is hidden in the door frame and saves enormous space, which can be used for more efficient purposes.
