Baroque style in the interior

Imagine Versailles, built by order of the King of France Louis XIV, with its spacious halls, tapestries, carved wooden panels made of massive oak and paintings on ceilings, each of which is a separate work of art. Probably, everyone at least once dreamed of introducing himself to the luxury and wealth living in this temple, which embodies a true design in the Baroque style.

In our time, of course, it will not be possible to create anything similar, even if you spend a fortune on this, because there are no more such masters. However, no one prevents the use of the details inherent in the Baroque style in the interior and reproduce the atmosphere inherent in that time in their house.

If you have a desire to feel yourself a member of the royal family, use the following tips to create an apartment or a house in the Baroque style design.

Natural colors and materials

It is clear to everyone that during the creation of this style of artificial materials simply did not exist, so you have to do without them or find them such a good replacement that only an experienced eye and at close range distinguishes. However, it is desirable to adhere to natural materials. One of the moments that should not be forgotten: interior design in the Baroque style is a rather expensive pleasure. And if you choose what to save on, then definitely not on the materials.

And then, just imagine the interior of the Baroque -style bedroom with velvet drapery on the walls, pure silk beds and carved wooden furniture. By the way, the furniture does not have to be fantastically expensive if such fabrics are in the foreground. Now there are not so few companies that offer handmade furniture from albeit not durable, but natural wood.

Colors also play a significant role. Baroque design involves intricate, difficult colors. They must be bright and saturated. The walls are usually dark-it can be the color of the aged red wine or golden patterns against the background of a dark blue, almost black color. By the way, golden motives are very characteristic of baroque, because it personifies a wealth that strives to emphasize this style.

Delicate pastel colors are not in honor, although they can find application with their ability. In this case, the furniture should impress, surprise, attract attention with interesting carvings, and accessories – with their exotic high cost and originality.

Furniture and lighting items

As already mentioned, all the furniture should be made of wood, preferably dark. The use of additional accents as ivory, precious and semiprecious stones (especially crystal) is warmly welcomed. Only copper, gold and silver are suitable of metals, if there are not enough funds on them, it is better to do without them at all. Also a prerequisite for furniture – it should be heavy, massive. Returning to the design of the Baroque -style bedroom, which is one of the most indicative, it is worth emphasizing that the bed should look as if made for centuries. Of course, ideally, she should really be one.

Lighting is another important part for baroque. Bright fluorescent lamps will spoil the entire atmosphere. Lighting should be soft, almost intimate, completing the rest of the atmosphere. If you want to achieve complete authenticity, instead of the usual chandeliers, you can use candelabra with candles or their modern analogues – lamps that look almost the same, but they can be included in the outlet and not worry about wax drops on the surface of such lovingly selected furniture.
