If the walls in the house are relatively flat, you can do it yourself, but for rooms with very large differences it is better to hire a specialist. <\/p>\n<h3>Ceiling decoration with baguette<\/h3>\n<p>First, let&#8217;s dwell a little on how to choose the right baguettes for the ceiling. All models can be roughly divided into two types: some are designed for suspended ceilings, others serve as decoration. <\/p>\n<p>The first option can be hidden or decorative. The hidden type is more durable and flexible, allowing you to create any shaped ceiling design. Visible models are made of PVC and they play the role of a decorative element.<\/p>\n<p>For other ceilings, the choice of skirting boards is no less wide. There are models made of plastic, polyurethane, and wood. Most often, polyurethane skirting boards are chosen. There are two ways: fix the baseboard directly to the wallpaper or to a bare wall. Mounting to a layer of wallpaper is only permissible if the walls and ceiling are smooth. If small gaps have formed, the plinth can be fixed using special glue. But there is a high probability of the wallpaper getting dirty, so it is preferable to install the baseboards before pasting the walls. To decorate the ceiling with baguettes, you can use several different techniques. It all depends on the skill of the craftsman and the quality of the ceiling and walls. <\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>First, let&#8217;s look at how to glue baguettes to the ceiling. To do this, use a special mounting adhesive. It is applied directly to those parts of the baseboard that will come into contact with the wall and ceiling. Immediately after application, the structure is pressed against the wall and held for some time. For convenience, the plinth is temporarily secured with nails or pins. After the glue has set, the temporary fastenings are removed and the punctures and joints are covered with putty. Before gluing the next baguettes to the ceiling, the joints are also coated with glue. At the end, everything is worked on with fine sandpaper and the surface is given a finished look.<\/li>\n<li>Now let&#8217;s look at how to attach baguettes to the ceiling using putty. A layer of putty is applied to the entire inner surface of the baseboard. During installation, the baguette is pressed in the \u201cceiling-wall\u201d area and excess putty is removed. If a gap has formed between the wall and the molding, you can seal it with putty. In some cases, for greater reliability, PVA glue is added to the putty solution, but not more than 20% of the total volume of the entire mass.<\/li>\n<li>Installing moldings for the ceiling when the walls are very uneven has its own characteristics. To do this, use gypsum putty, level the lower edge, having previously beaten off a line. The line is drawn using a thin cord or strong thread. To level, squeeze out the excess putty a little in the direction of the ceiling or wall and use a spatula to make an even cut. In order for everything to turn out neat and the transitions to be smooth, you need to select wide baseboards. After complete drying, it is necessary to sand the surface and paint everything with white water-based emulsion. <\/li>\n<li>The baguette for fabric ceilings has a special design. It is made of durable plastic. The design includes a snap-on clip that holds the canvas. The structure is attached directly to the wall or ceiling.
