People often focus on minimalist trends, often forgetting about other equally effective techniques. One of the methods that can both visually and actually expand your living space is the installation of interior accordion doors. What is it and how sliding doors can help cope with the lack of space, read on.<\/p>\n<h3>Advantages of accordion folding interior doors<\/h3>\n<p>Sliding interior doors come in two types &#8211; the so-called corrugated doors and the actual accordion door. The first ones are more like a screen: they are just a few sections that move along a guide. The second option is more practical &#8211; accordion doors are a large number of sections about ten centimeters wide, which are fastened together with hinges. The sections resemble vertical slats, they are firmly attached to the frame and operate very smoothly. When opened, such a door folds compactly like an accordion against the wall, leaving the doorway itself free. It is necessary to distinguish interior accordion doors from compartment doors, which move on special rollers, and from the \u201cbook\u201d mechanism, which has only two folding doors.<\/p>\n<p>The first and obvious advantage of such doors is their compactness. This design does not steal extra centimeters from you, folding conveniently in the corner.<\/p>\n<p>Compared to a room in the opening of which a conventional swing door is installed, the living space with an accordion door will be more spacious.<\/p>\n<p>Such doors would be an excellent option for a room in a typical Khrushchev-era building, as well as for a dressing room or bathroom. The fact is that high humidity is not so bad for a folding door, since it is less susceptible to deformation than a standard wooden door.<\/p>\n<p>Safety is another plus of an accordion interior door. They are good for homes where there are children or pets, since it is impossible to get an arm, leg or tail pinched by such a door. <\/p>\n<p>The accordion door is easy to transport, since its leaf is supplied folded.
